This pattern is a 3-in-one, as it contains directions for 3 different methods of applique'.  You get to choose.  The sample is done like the Poinsettia using what I am calling the "appliquilt" method.  While it is 'raw edge', you do not use any fusing material and when you stitch around the edges you are also quilting (having made your 'sandwich' before stitching).  Or you can choose to do regular fusing, in which case the templates are already drawn on separate sheets and in reverse!  That means you can copy them directly onto your fusing material.  Easy Peasy ^_^  And if you prefer hand applique, there is the normal full size drawing that is numbered - and you can just trace the pieces using those sheets of templates, if you choose, cause not a lot of 'fussy cutting' required. The background is about 22" - or whatever you (I) can get from the half-width of the fabric. ^_^  You will buy 2/3 yd = 24", so you could make it that big (minus seam allowance) if you want.
