This design takes 'reverse applique' up one notch. No, not in difficulty, just in terms of adding an additional layer - as you layer in 'regular' applique, so too in this design. You will start with the normal 2 fabrics and do the whole lizard with a 'plain' body. Then, you will add another fabric underneath and do the pattern in the bodies. There are directions, not to worry! Life often calls us to 'let go' - of things, of people, of old beliefs. As for Lizzie, she lets go of her tail as a means of survival when a predator is threatening. I actually didn't know that - I now feel a lot better about what I find on the path! Our cats think lizard is quite tasty! By the way, the sample is not finished - I am choosing to leave it as is for awhile as it is perfect for showing the process to folks in the booth at shows. Each step is clearly defined visually.
